Family members are leaving for a trip to Italy soon and I am remembering my second trip to Venice with my daughter, Melissa last summer. We were there during a thunderstorm on a very very hot July afternoon. We travelled by train for a day trip from Rome with friends we met on the trip. It was hot, tiring but of course, magical - as Venice has to be. I really love that place and am getting ready to paint from the pictures I took. Here are a few during that storm. The best part was all the tourists scurrying around trying to hide under the porches of the Doges Palace - we didn't quite fit under it since we waited until the last minute - taking pictures of the beautiful sea color as the storm clouds above affected the color.
